The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office announced that a recent sting operation on an organized vehicle theft ring led to arrests and the recovery of over $1 million worth of luxury vehicles.
A media release issued by VCSO Monday states that their East County Special Enforcement Unit began their “lengthy and complex” investigation into the ring, which targeted luxury and high-performance cars throughout the Southland.
Specifically, the investigation started months ago when a 2026 Chevrolet Stingray was stolen from a Thousand Oaks dealership on May 19. The approximate value of the car is $105,000, according to VCSO.

“Over the following weeks, detectives utilized investigative techniques, search warrants, physical evidence, covert operations, and interagency cooperation to identify those responsible and uncover a much larger criminal enterprise involving stolen vehicles, fraudulent registrations, altered vehicle identification numbers, and fictitious license plates,” the sheriff’s office said…
