Southern California’s Historic Sunken City Could Partially Reopen After Decades of Abandonment

Los Angeles is considering partially reopening the long-abandoned Sunken City. Currently, only the upper part of the site is being considered for reopening, as the lower section is still deemed too dangerous for residents.

Officials have been weighing the move since at least February. That month, the LA City Council approved funding for a project to begin this process.
