Street, homes flooded after water pipe ruptures in Venice

Homes suffered hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages in Venice Saturday afternoon after a water pipe ruptured near the intersection of Venice Way and Main Street.

KTLA reporter Hailey Winslow was at the scene and reports that some areas were buried in as much as 5 feet of water at the height of the flooding. Video provided by one resident shows water pouring down a staircase inside their home.

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power responded and reportedly severed a gas line while working to fix the issue, causing more problems…
