While Arch Manning and the Texas Longhorns were destroying the Texas State defense in their home opener, the extreme heat in Austin, Texas reportedly sent multiple fans at the stadium to the hospital.
Taking to X, Hunter Schuler of Texas State shared a photo of fans effectively sheltering inside of Darrell K. Royal Stadium to avoid the sun. Schuler claimed to have seen paramedics in the building bring out at least four stretchers for fans that he dubbed “heat casualties.”
“So many heat casualties at this Texas State vs Texas game. I haven’t seen anything like this in a long time. Already seen paramedics bring 4 stretches in and it’s still Q1. People are huddled in the stadium like it’s a hurricane shelter. 2:30pm kickoff is a certified disaster,” Schuler wrote…
