LOS ANGELES – The rain that broke Sept. 6 records across Los Angeles County is giving way to another stretch of dangerous heat, with temperatures expected to peak Wednesday in the 90s and reach as high as 105 degrees in some areas.
Downtown Los Angeles received 0.70 inches of rain Sunday, breaking the previous record of 0.17 inches set in 1965. LAX recorded 0.59 inches, surpassing a 1965 record of 0.02 inches. Hollywood Burbank Airport received 1.3 inches, eclipsing the 0.82-inch mark set in 1976.
The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory from 10 a.m. Tuesday until at least 8 p.m. Thursday. Overnight lows are expected to remain in the 70s in some communities, offering little relief during the hottest part of the week…
