Three years ago Wednesday, Deputy Ryan Clinkunbroomer, a Santa Clarita Valley native, was shot and killed in Palmdale.
On Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023, Clinkunbroomer tragically lost his life in an unprovoked ambush at the intersection of Sierra Highway and Avenue Q in the city of Palmdale.
Clinkunbroomer was shot from behind while sitting at a red light in his patrol vehicle just outside the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station. He was immediately rushed to the Antelope Valley Medical Center, where he later died.
