A suspected DUI driver is in custody after a wild crash in Los Angeles’ Boyle Heights area Thursday morning that left a passenger dead and a vehicle wedged beneath a freeway overpass.
The incident was reported on the northbound 5 Freeway transition road to the eastbound 10 Freeway at about 2:15 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol’s traffic incident log.
“This car somehow launched itself off of the freeway and landed here, under the overpass,” KTLA’s Ginger Chan reported.
One person, identified as a passenger in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the CHP. No information about the victim’s identity was released…
