LOS ANGELES – $78.7 million is set to be disbursed to nearly 13,000 residents and property owners if a federal judge grants final approval to Delta Air Lines’ settlement over its 2020 fuel dump from a flight departing LAX.
The agreement still needs final approval from U.S. District Judge John A. Kronstadt, who is expected to issue an order later. If the court approves all fees and costs, the plaintiff class would receive about $51.2 million, according to Filippo Marchino, an attorney for the plaintiffs.
The tentative ruling moves closer to payment a settlement previously reached by Delta over an incident that sent jet fuel over tens of thousands of homes, schools and other properties in Los Angeles and Orange counties…
