LAFD Swiftly Contains Brush Fire in Sepulveda Basin, Prevents Damage to Structures

Los Angeles firefighters quickly contained a brush fire that erupted in the Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area on Thursday afternoon. The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) reported deploying both ground and air resources to tackle the fire, which was initially estimated to be less than one acre in size. According to the LAFD alert, the fire presented a moderate rate of spread due to light winds out of the southwest and posed no threat to nearby structures or necessitated evacuations. Burbank Boulevard between Woodley Avenue and the 405 Freeway was closed to traffic as operations were underway.
