Caltrans Awards $51.4 Million for 89 Sustainable Transportation Projects Across California

Caltrans awarded $51.4 million for 89 sustainable transportation projects across California to enhance climate resilience. Funded largely by Governor Newsom’s clean transportation package and the California Climate Commitment, the projects aim to reduce pollution, improve highway resiliency, and enhance pedestrian and bike access. This includes $28.8 million for climate adaptation planning, $19.2 million for sustainable community projects, and $3.4 million for federally funded strategic partnerships. The majority of these initiatives will benefit disadvantaged communities.
