State awaits response from Beverly Hills on violation

After the California Department of Housing and Community Development notified the city of Beverly Hills on Aug. 22 that it violated state housing laws by denying a 19-story project containing affordable housing at 125-129 S. Linden Drive, the city responded by defending its position and saying it would submit “detailed reasoning” for its actions by Sept. 20. According to Beverly Hills Public Information Manager Lauren Santillana, the city has yet to send the formal response but is planning to submit it “before the deadline.”
