ROSEMEAD, Calif. (KTLA) – A shooting by a deputy with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department prompted road closures in Rosemead Sunday afternoon.
Officials said in a post to X , formerly Twitter, that deputies responded to the area of Garvey and Walnut Grove avenues just before 1 p.m. on reports of a suspect with a firearm.
Details are limited and it’s unclear exactly what led up to the gunfire, but authorities added that when deputies arrived at the scene, they “encountered the suspect, who was in possession of a firearm” and a deputy-involved shooting occurred. The person was then taken into custody.
