A homeless man was arrested after a video showed him using what appeared to be a “flamethrower” in an attempt to start one of the Los Angeles County wildfires, KTLA reports.
The unidentified suspect was seen riding around on a bicycle and setting fire to several old Christmas trees and garbage cans in the area of Woodland Hills at around the same time as the Kenneth Fire sparked, according to local residents. Renata Grinshpun told the news station said she witnessed a car come to a screeching stop and a man yelling, “Neighbors, he’s trying to start a fire! Call 911!”
Grinshpun said she saw the man holding a large “propane tank or a flamethrower” as he attempted to torch debris in the area before neighbors intervened, cornering the man while he tried to ride off on his bicycle, in video footage shared by KTLA…
