Authorities Plan Crackdown On Unpermitted Street Vendors In Castaic

In response to a growing number of public complaints, authorities said they plan on ramping up enforcement efforts against unpermitted street vending in the Castaic area.

Thursday morning, Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger ’s office, which represents District 5, held a meeting with L.A. County Public Health discussing the numerous complaints and concerns over street vendors in Castaic.

Branch Director James Dragan from the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health stated in his presentation that in the last 10 years, sidewalk food vending has exploded, contributing to the increasing concerns over public health and safety in communities.

“It’s all over L.A. County, not just L.A. County, other counties, but because of our size and population, it is largest here,” Dragan said…
