Woman Fatally Shot While Driving in Orange, Suspect Allan Plata from La Habra Arrested on Murder Charges

On the early morning of May 6, a woman named Amber Nicole Parsons was tragically shot and killed while driving through a residential area of Orange, as initially reported by KTLA. According to details provided by the news outlet, the 24-year-old Costa Mesa resident, accompanied by another female passenger, turned around in a cul-de-sac on Highland Street when a gunman fired at their Honda SUV from behind. Unfortunately, struck by the gunfire behind her vehicle’s wheel, Parsons was pronounced dead at the scene while her passenger managed to escape injury.

The suspect, identified as 21-year-old Allan Plata from Orange, fled on foot before the police could arrive. As indicated in a report by ABC7, the area where the fatal incident occurred is known for gang activity, but investigators have not established a clear motive; neither did the victims have an apparent reason for being in that specific neighborhood. “It’s unknown what led up to the shooting, why it happened, if it was random or if it was targeted,” Lieutenant Phil McMullin of the Orange Police Department conveyed through KTLA’s reporting.

Following the incident, the Orange Police Department swiftly engaged in investigative efforts.
