Firefighters battled a fast-moving brush fire Wednesday afternoon in the Sepulveda Basin near Encino, after flames broke out close to an encampment, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The blaze was first reported around 12:16 p.m. by a park ranger near Balboa and Victory boulevards. Before fire crews arrived, SkyCAL captured scenes of nearby citizens using dirt and water in a desperate attempt to hold back the flames.
