County sends deputies to Los Angeles for mutual aid

Officials said the deputies will be used only for public safety and the protection of government properties

– On June 13, the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office received a request from the State Office of Emergency Services to provide mutual aid to the city of Los Angeles in response to ongoing civil unrest.

The Sheriff’s Office has deployed 23 deputies, including members of its Mutual Aid and Public Safety Team. The team is a mobile field unit that responds to mutual aid callouts, including natural disasters and civil disturbances. Deputies will remain deployed as needed until further notice…
