More Than 500 Arrests Reported Amid Anti-ICE Protests

Department of Homeland Security investigations have reportedly led to the arrest of Christian Damian Cerno-Camacho. Cerno-Camacho allegedly assaulted a U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer during anti-ICE protests. Before the anti-ICE protests in Los Angeles, ICE raids arrested 44 undocumented immigrants on June 6 as well as 77 more in the greater LA area. During the protests, the LAPD reported 575 arrests from June 7 to June 17. The charges range from looting to failure to disperse. Some suspects have been charged with assault on officers.

The Department of Homeland Security wrote, “This was no hit and run.” The department added, “This was a targeted arrest of a violent rioter who punched a CBP officer.”

Cuong Chanh Phan, an undocumented immigrant from Vietnam, was also among those arrested. He has a conviction for second-degree murder stemming from a violent incident at a graduation party that left two people dead and several others injured…
