Hundreds of demonstrators march in downtown LA on Independence Day

Hundreds of people marched through downtown Los Angeles on Friday, joining a nationwide call-to-action on Independence Day to protest recent federal immigration enforcement sweeps.

The “End the Occupation” march, organized by 50501 SoCal, began Friday morning outside City Hall. The group looped along a 1.5-mile planned route on West Cesar Chavez Avenue, Grand Avenue and back to Spring Street, according to our media partners at KCAL News.
