Metro will launch two limited edition TAP cards to commemorate the late artist Nipsey Hussle, celebrating what would have been his 40th birthday on Aug. 15. Born Ermias Joseph Asghedom, Hussle was a rapper known for his acclaimed mixtapes “The Marathon” and “Crenshaw,” and for his Grammy-nominated debut album “Victory Lap.” The Nipsey Hussle TAP cards – of which only 12,000 were made – will be released as part of the Metro x Culture series, celebrating Los Angeles leaders, artists and visionaries who profoundly shaped the city.
