New COVID variant called stratus arrives just in time for busy Labor Day weekend

LOS ANGELES — There’s a new strain of COVID that’s growing in numbers, and doctors say it comes at a time when many people don’t even realize COVID is still something to think about.

The new variant is called stratus, and Dr. Jerry Abrahm, director of public and street integration for Kedren Community Health Center in South Los Angeles, said the symptoms are similar to past variants.

“This is a pretty mild strain, so most folks with not need anything beyond supportive care — take it easy, lots of water and fluids,” Abraham said…
