Playboy Model Accused of Targeting Elderly Men on Dating Apps in California Burglary Spree

LOS ANGELES, CA — A woman who once posed for Playboy and Penthouse magazines is accused of using dating apps to lure elderly men in Southern California — then robbing their homes while posing as their girlfriend or companion, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The Allegations

Authorities say 28-year-old Adva Lavie, also known by the aliases Mia Ventura, Shoshana, and Shana, has been connected to at least 10 burglaries targeting elderly men across Malibu and greater Los Angeles County.

According to investigators, Lavie “has been involved in a series of residential burglaries” where she would meet older men through social media or dating apps, gain their trust, and then burglarize their homes once she was invited over.

Detectives released her photo and vehicle descriptions as part of an appeal to find additional victims, saying the scheme may go back months.
