Detective shoots man who was stabbing another in Los Angeles, LAPD says

A plain-clothes Los Angeles Police detective shot and wounded a man who was stabbing another person near downtown Los Angeles Tuesday morning.

At about 11 a.m., the detective was driving near Olympic Boulevard and Alvarado Street in the Westlake District when they “saw an assault with a deadly weapon in progress,” the LAPD said on social media.

The detective opened fire, hitting the assailant, a man, once, police said. He was then taken into custody and transported to a nearby hospital, where he is in stable condition…
