The family of an eight-year-old girl has filed a lawsuit against Sierra Canyon School in Chatsworth, alleging that their daughter was sexually assaulted by older students in a “Kissing Club.”
The family claims the school did not take adequate measures to stop or report the incidents. According to the lawsuit, the girl, who was seven at the time, was assaulted in the school’s bathrooms during school hours. The lawsuit further alleges that older girls coerced younger girls into kissing and other forms of sexual assault.
The family accuses the school of failing to provide adequate supervision and claims that when the school staff discovered the activity, including video evidence on students’ phones, they did not promptly inform the victim’s parents or law enforcement. The family describes this as a cover-up and a violation of California’s mandatory reporting laws. “As a mother, the feeling of being hopeless and not being able to protect my child from this harm that 100% could have been avoided is crushing,” the victim’s mother said…
