This move will consolidate services with the office in South LA, presumably to improve operational efficiency or respond to other administrative imperatives.
The closure also includes the payment kiosk in the Torrance office. A nearby alternative kiosk is also housed at the South LA office for those who need to make payments in person. Furthermore, LA County Child Support Office & Kiosk locations remain operational in Southeast LA, San Fernando Valley, Pomona Valley, and Antelope Valley for additional in-person service options, as detailed on the county’s service update announcement.
For non-cash payments, several alternatives are available. Parents can make online payments through the official website, which incurs a 1.9% fee for credit or debit cards or a 2.49% fee via PayPal. Other electronic payment methods include MoneyGram and PayNearMe services, both of which carry a standard $1.99 transaction fee. Alternatively, checks can be mailed to the California State Disbursement Unit without any processing fees.
