The National Weather Service (NWS) is cautioning that waves as high as 25 feet could develop near the San Francisco Bay area, as California attempts to recover from a devastating week of deadly storms.
Officials are emphasizing that threats of flooding, hazardous surf conditions, and avalanches persist throughout the Golden State following an atmospheric river that delivered the wettest Christmas period to downtown Los Angeles in 54 years, the NWS reported.
The NWS had indicated that “life-threatening atmospheric river conditions” would persist through Christmas Day.
