Minneapolis Mayor Condemns ICE After Fatal Shooting
A disturbing pattern of deadly force is emerging from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), connecting fatal shootings in two major American cities and sparking unified outrage from local leaders and civil rights coalitions.
The crisis gained national attention following the fatal shooting of a woman in Minneapolis. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey delivered a scathing rebuke, stating that after the shooting, “the first priority of local law enforcement was to get the victim to the hospital, and the second was to get ICE off the scene because they were ‘making a difficult situation more problematic.’”
“What they are doing is causing chaos and distrust,” Mayor Frey further stated. “They are ripping families apart, sowing chaos in the streets and, in this case, quite literally killing people. This was an agent recklessly using power that resulted in somebody dying.”…
