Long Beach Poly student wounded in shooting near campus, LBUSD says

A Poly High School student was shot shortly after 8 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Long Beach Boulevard and 17th Street, about two blocks from campus, a spokesperson for the Long Beach Unified School District said.

The student arrived at school and received immediate medical attention from Poly staff before being transported to the hospital, the spokesperson said.

A Poly teacher confirmed that the school is not on lockdown, and the spokesperson said the school remains safe.
