Standoff with armed suspect at L.A. County home ends after nearly 20 hours

An armed standoff with a barricaded suspect in the Antelope Valley that started late Monday morning ended early Tuesday morning after about 20 hours, authorities said.

According to an Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson, the incident began around 11 a.m. Monday when deputies were dispatched to the 43000 block of Blue Sky Court in Lancaster for “a call of mentally ill person armed with a knife trying to harm someone inside a home.”
