North Hollywood man charged with animal cruelty and domestic violence

VAN NUYS, California — A 25-year-old North Hollywood man faces multiple charges, including felony animal cruelty, in connection with the death of his girlfriend’s rabbit.

Nikolas Hart, of North Hollywood, is accused of stomping on the rabbit, named Momo, and throwing it from a second-story apartment, according to a press release from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. The incident allegedly occurred on February 11, resulting in the rabbit’s death from blunt force trauma.

Hart has been charged with one felony count of animal cruelty, one misdemeanor count of injury to a spouse or cohabitant, one misdemeanor count of attempting to prevent or dissuade a victim or witness, and three misdemeanor counts of disobeying a court order not to contact the victim.
