Camp Fire survivor pushes bill to cut utility rates 30%, compensate wildfire victims

CALIFORNIA – A bill in the California State Assembly could lower monthly utility bills and examine whether utility-caused wildfire survivors have been fully and fairly compensated.

Sydney Robinson lost her childhood home in the Camp Fire. Two weeks later, her dad died of a heart attack, unable to access his heart medications.

She’s spent much of her time in the more than seven years since then advocating for other fire survivors like her. Robinson has volunteered her time as a member of the Utility Wildfire Survivor Coalition in the hopes of legislative change to prevent others from experiencing what she’s gone through…
