Being in the top 20 isn’t always a good thing, especially when it’s the top 20 cities with the most dog attacks on mail carriers.
In 2025, more than 5,200 dog attacks on Postal Service employees were recorded, which is actually a decrease from the 6,000 dog attacks seen in 2024. Nonetheless, it’s an impressive number that no one should be proud of, especially when Phoenix was one of the top contributors out of all cities.
To prevent dog attacks on mail carriers and continue to decrease the number of attacks per year, the U.S. Postal Service has started a month-long dog bite awareness campaign for June to provide tips for mail carriers and dog owners alike.
