A historic Los Angeles hole-in-the-wall has seemingly closed its doors for the last time.

Burrito King, a beloved restaurant nestled in an Echo Park strip mall on the corner of L.A.’s Sunset Boulevard and Alvarado Street, appears to be closed for business. News of the apparent closure broke on Reddit on Tuesday, June 30.

A user shared what appears to be a photo of the empty interior of the beloved spot on the “r/LosAngeles” subreddit, along with the caption, “RIP Burrito King – 1968 – 2026.” The same user also shared more context for the photo, adding, “Ownership has been in limbo for a few years, but walked by today and noticed it was now fully empty.”…
