Motorcyclist struck, killed by driver making U-turn in L.A. neighborhood

A motorcyclist was fatally struck by a driver who was making a U-turn early Saturday morning, police say.

According to a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson, units responded to a physical rescue call at 1:20 a.m. at the intersection of Broadway and 59th in the Florence neighborhood.

The motorcyclist, who was not identified, was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Preliminary information from the LAPD spokesperson indicated the driver was going south on Broadway and went to make a U-turn when they struck the motorcyclist.
