CAL FIRE and Ventura County Fire crews have made good progress on a brush fire south of the 126 Freeway, east of Piru, Thursday afternoon.
Forward progress has been stopped on the Grande Fire, which was burning 50 acres as of 2 p.m. with a moderate rate of spread in steep terrain, officials say.
Over 100 firefighters are attacking the fire from the ground and multiple fixed wing aircraft and helicopters are assigned to the blaze.
Evacuation warnings were issued for areas east of Lake Piru to the Los Angeles County line.
