A fatal crash involving a pedestrian and multiple vehicles on the 10 Freeway prompted an hourslong SigAlert and snarled the morning commute in Los Angeles’ Pico-Union area Monday morning.
The crash was reported at 3:45 a.m. on the westbound 10 Freeway near Vermont Avenue just west of the 110 Freeway interchange. The collision left all but one lane closed.
The SigAlert was initially expected to remain in place until 6:30 a.m., but was extended by the California Highway Patrol for another 30 minutes at 6:45 a.m.
Authorities did not immediately say whether the pedestrian had exited a disabled vehicle or walked onto the freeway before being struck…
