MERCED COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGE) – A non-custodial parent from Los Angeles was arrested in Merced County after abducting his child on Wednesday, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
CHP says the Los Angeles Police Department informed the Merced Communication Center at 11:51 a.m. that they were tracking a vehicle with OnStar’s help.
The non-custodial parent, two females, and an abducted 3-year-old child were in the vehicle traveling north on I-5, according to officials. Officers say the abduction occurred in the Van Nuys area in Los Angeles.
CHP says officers found the vehicle still traveling north on I-5, now near Shields Avenue just past noon. OnStar shut down the vehicle’s engine once units were in position behind the suspect’s vehicle, according to officers…
