Venice Beach Residents Turn to Former Gang Members in Effort to Reclaim Streets From Homeless

Venice Beach residents are turning to an unlikely source to combat homelessness.

According to the California Post, fed-up residents of the Southern California city have hired “ex-gangbangers” to battle against what they say has become a “war zone.”

“I don’t know what we would do without them,” local apartment owner Rick Swinger told the outlet of the newly hired hands.

Swinger is one of about 250 locals and a slew of businesses in the beachside town that have been paying what’s being called the “Ghost Town Consultants” firm a monthly fee to help curb the impact of the area’s growing homeless encampments…
