Homeless man found dead in Los Angeles alleyway, investigation underway

Authorities are looking into what led to a homeless man being found dead in an alleyway in a Los Angeles neighborhood.

Not much information was available surrounding the incident at first. A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department was able to confirm that officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of West Leighton Avenue – between Normandie Avenue and Budlong Avenue in the Exposition Park area – at 10:07 p.m. Tuesday.

The LAPD spokesperson did not clarify what the original call was for; however, they did say that the arriving first responders located a man who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The department rep added that the victim was a 54-year-old Black man who was homeless. According to preliminary reports that were not immediately verified by law enforcement, he showed signs of blunt force trauma…
