A House Fire in Los Angeles Led Investigators to a Bedroom Where a Family Was Found Dead
It started as a routine fire call. At 2:25 a.m. on September 5, 2026, L.A. County firefighters pulled up to a two-story home on East 61st Street in Maywood, California. Smoke was pouring out. They requested backup. By 2:41 a.m., the flames were out.
Then they went inside to search for anyone who might still be in there and what they found in one upstairs bedroom changed everything about this call.
What Firefighters Found Inside That Bedroom
Three people were lying dead. A husband and wife, both in their late 40s. And their young son, under 10 years old.
All three had gunshot wounds. A handgun was recovered in the same room where the bodies were found. They were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not yet been released publicly…
