A Compton woman who was arrested for allegedly fraudulently obtaining nearly $17,351 in disaster-relief funds by falsely claiming a property she rented was damaged in the wildfires that struck Los Angeles County in January 2025 is expected to plead guilty Wednesday to a federal charge.
Deanniah Hogan, 33, has agreed to enter a plea in Los Angeles federal court to a single count of fraud in connection with major disaster or emergency benefits.
Hogan allegedly submitted a false claim for federal disaster assistance related to the Palisades Fire, listing an address in Pacific Palisades as the purportedly damaged dwelling in which she claimed to live and rent.
