A partial hillside collapse that damaged a residence below and prompted evacuations in the Hollywood Hills Friday afternoon was caused by an overflowing pool, according to authorities.
It was reported just after 2 p.m. in the area of 1929 N. Wilcox Avenue, according to L.A. Fire officials.
Sky5’s Gil Leyvas was over the scene just after 3 p.m. Crews were seen coordinating to stabilize the hillside and safely evacuate an apartment building on Grace Avenue.
The reported source of flooding and the hillside collapse was a garden house that overflowed a pool above the hillside for an unknown amount of time, according to LAFD…
