A man jumped overboard from a Carnival Cruise ship off the coast of Mexico, prompting an ongoing search by the U.S. Coast Guard and Mexican authorities, officials said Sunday.
The passenger, identified only as a 56-year-old man, was aboard the Carnival Panorama as it sailed from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, back to Long Beach, California.
According to the U.S. Coast Guard, the Rescue Coordination Center Alameda was notified Saturday afternoon and began coordinating search-and-rescue efforts.
