Former Tax Startup CEO Shiloh Luckey Charged With Allegedly Defrauding Investors of $13.3 Million

A former Los Angeles-area startup executive has been federally charged with allegedly defrauding venturecapitalinvestors of more than $13 million by misrepresenting her professional credentials and inflating the financial performance of her now-defunct taxcompliance company, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

According a statement issued by the U.S. Department of Justice, Shiloh Luckey, 42, also known as Shiloh Johnson, was arrestedSunday, Aug. 30, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, as she was preparing to board a cruise ship for a vacation.

Federal prosecutors added that she was released onbond in the Southern District of Florida and is expected to appear in federal court in downtown Los Angeles in the coming weeks…
