A theft suspect allegedly armed with a knife was shot and killed by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies in Claremont Monday morning.
It happened just before 10 a.m. in the parking lot of a McDonald’s and Chevron gas station on S Indian Hill Boulevard and American Avenue.
Deputies had been assisting with a nearby eviction when a gas station patron notified them of a theft in progress, according to LASD.
“Deputies were notified that there was possibly a theft taking place at the gas station,” said LASD Lt. Chris Oakley. “They walked over to the gas station, and that’s when this individual charges them with a knife.”…
