The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health says that it is investigating a localized outbreak of flea-borne typhus in a high-density Los Angeles neighborhood.
That neighborhood is Wilshire Center, public health officials said Tuesday in a statement urging people to take precautions to protect themselves and their pets.
“Seven symptomatic cases linked to this outbreak have been identified. Six of the seven people were hospitalized, and all have recovered,” LACDPH said…
