LOS ANGELES — The first of four Wabtec FLXdrive battery-electric locomotives for Union Pacific have arrived in Southern California to begin testing, UP has announced.
Two of the units are now on hand, with two more to arrive in October. Testing will be conducted in the greater LA area, UP says.
“Union Pacific has never been content to stand still,” UP CEO Jim Vena said in a press release. “Our industry is constantly evolving, and if we’re not exploring what’s next, we risk being left behind.
