Dolly Parton loved her home state of Tennessee, but she also loved California. The country icon and philanthropist, who died of cancer on Aug. 25, owned houses everywhere from Los Angeles to Solvang, Hemet and Idyllwild. And whenever she was on the West Coast, she made it a point to try to stop at Madonna Inn, where she was a regular for decades.
And so, to celebrate Dolly Parton Day on Sept. 25, the historic, kitschy hotel has decided to offer a deal on one of the singer’s go-to orders: the Pink Cloud Cocktail.
“In honor of Dolly Day on 9/25, we’re celebrating with one of Dolly’s favorites from her many visits to the Madonna Inn: our signature Pink Cloud Cocktail,” the hotel posted on Instagram on Sept. 23. “On September 25, enjoy a Pink Cloud for just $9.25.”
After a massive fan push, Sept. 25 has been officially named Dolly Parton Day by the state of California. The date, 9/25, is in honor of “9 to 5,” the song that Parton wrote for her first starring role in the movie of the same name.
