A shooting in Palms where an assault suspect may have shot himself was under investigation Thursday.
Police officers were first called to 3685 Mentone Avenue around 10:40 p.m. Wednesday for a report of an assault with a deadly weapon, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson said.
