New images could help identify young girl found dead in L.A. flood control channel

Officials at the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office used facial reconstruction technology to recreate the approximate appearance of a young girl found dead in a flood control channel earlier this month in Carson.

Investigators with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded just after noon Sept. 1 to the 20000 block of Avalon Boulevard, near the intersection of Del Amo Boulevard, after receiving reports of a body floating in the Dominguez Channel.

“The body was found to be in a severe state of decomposition and pronounced dead at the scene,” sheriff’s investigators said in a news release…
